Adding a credit card surcharge in Oklahoma.
Surcharges allowed with state conditionsSB 677 repealed Oklahoma's old surcharge ban (14A O.S. § 2-417) and now permits credit card surcharges. The surcharge cannot exceed the lesser of 2% of the transaction or the actual processing cost. The amount must be posted at the point of entry and point of sale, on the home page and checkout page online, or stated verbally for phone orders. A merchant that accepts only credit cards cannot surcharge.
