Labor and tips
In pilotTip pools your staff can check, to the cent.
Time cards, schedules and tip pools in one place, worked out in whole cents with nothing lost to rounding, and a payroll file at the end. Every share traces back to the hours, the sales and the rule that produced it.
Tip pools
Any pool you run today, written down once.
Set the rule per location, or keep one template every location follows and let a location change a single setting without leaving it.
Hours, points or both
Share by hours worked, by points per job, or in stages: tip-outs first, then the pool.
Tip-outs by sales
A share of a server's sales to the bar, the runners or the kitchen, worked out from what the till actually recorded.
Service charges kept apart
Automatic gratuities and service charges are not tips, and they are never mixed into the pool by accident.
Whose check it is
On VitaPOS a check's tip goes to the server who closes it, the one who opened it, or is split between everyone who held it. Your choice.
Rules with a start date
A rule change starts on the business day you pick. Recalculating an earlier day uses the rules that were in force on that day.
Late changes, reprinted
A tip entered after the receipt printed recalculates everyone in the pool, and the corrected receipts print marked as amended.
Why exact matters
Every cent of the pool is paid to someone.
Most tip disputes start with a total that does not add up. Here each share is rounded once and the leftover cents are placed by a fixed rule, so the shares always add back to exactly what was collected.
Time and schedules
The clock where your staff already are.
Clock in on the terminal
Staff clock in and out on VitaPOS, or keep clocking in on Oracle Simphony and we read the time cards. Each location chooses.
One person, one history
A person who moves from one system to another keeps a single pay history, and a shift recorded in both is refused rather than paid twice.
Schedules against sales
Schedules by job, time-off requests, and the cost of each shift set against what the shift sold.
Payroll
A file your payroll provider takes, approved by two people.
Pay periods from closed weeks
A payroll run is built only from weeks that are closed, so the figures a reviewer approves are the figures that are exported.
A second approval
One person prepares the run and another approves it. Both are recorded.
ADP or any provider by CSV
Export as an ADP Workforce Now paydata file, or as a plain CSV you map to any other provider's import.
Labor is optional
VitaPOS runs without it. Switch it on for a location when you want it, and nothing about the till changes.
Where it stands
What it does, and what it leaves to others.
Today
- The tip engine, time cards, schedules and payroll runs, in pilot with our first locations.
- Time cards read from Oracle Simphony, or taken on VitaPOS terminals.
- Export to ADP Workforce Now, or by CSV to any payroll provider.
Not yet
- Paying wages or tips. VitaPay never moves that money: your payroll provider pays your staff from the file.
- A direct export for payroll providers other than ADP. The CSV covers them, mapped once by hand.
